Seller Policy – StoreMela (India)


1. Business Model

StoreMela is a pure marketplace platform. Sellers are responsible for product packaging and keeping shipments ready for pickup. StoreMela provides pickup and delivery services through its logistics partners (including Shiprocket-supported carriers). Dropshipping is currently not allowed.


2. Commission Structure

StoreMela charges a flat 5% commission per product sold.
Sellers must include shipping cost within product pricing. Standard shipping charges (0.5 kg – 1 kg) should be calculated between ₹100 – ₹130.


3. Seller Payout Policy

Minimum withdrawal amount is ₹500.
Sellers may raise a withdrawal request once their earnings reach ₹500, regardless of time duration. Processing timelines may apply internally.
StoreMela reserves the right to hold payouts in case of disputes, returns, policy violations, or investigation.


4. COD (Cash on Delivery) Policy

COD is allowed only if the seller pays COD charges in advance.
All COD-related responsibility, including RTO loss, lies with the seller.
StoreMela will confirm COD orders via phone before processing.


5. Return & RTO Liability

In cases of:

  • COD rejection

  • Wrong address

  • Customer non-acceptance

  • Approved returns

The seller will bear the full loss. Certain cases may be reviewed case-to-case at StoreMela’s discretion.


6. Seller Registration & KYC

Required details:

  • Seller Name

  • Shop Name

  • Email ID

  • Phone Number

  • Full Address

Required Documents:

  • GST Certificate (if applicable)
    OR

  • Aadhaar (front & back) / PAN / Driving License (for non-registered businesses)

Currently GST is not mandatory. Once StoreMela becomes GST registered, GST compliance will follow Government of India regulations.


7. Prohibited Products

Strictly banned:

  • Illegal items (as per Indian law)

  • Drugs & tobacco

  • Weapons

  • Explicit adult products (condoms allowed)

  • Digital products (currently not allowed)

Copyright complaints will result in immediate listing removal.


8. Fake & Trademark Violation Policy

  • Fake branded product: Listing removed + warning.

  • On complaint/report, product will be removed immediately.

  • Trademark/Copyright violation: Warning + 2× commission for 90 days.

  • Repeat violation: Permanent ban.


9. Strict Prohibited Seller Conduct

Immediate permanent ban (no settlement of earnings) if seller:

  • Offers cashback/bonus for positive reviews

  • Inserts coupon cards or hidden promotions

  • Shares personal contact details in packaging

  • Promotes own business secretly

  • Misleads customers


10. Order Processing & Dispatch SLA

Seller must mark orders Ready to Ship within 24 hours of order confirmation.
Delay beyond 24 hours will result in a ₹50 penalty per product.
Repeated delays may lead to account review or suspension.


11. Packaging & Branding Policy

Seller is not allowed to use personal branding, custom logo packaging, promotional prints, or branded materials.
Packaging materials must be purchased only from StoreMela-approved sources provided by the team.
Shipping manifest/label must be downloaded and used as instructed by StoreMela.

Inserting promotional cards, website links, social media handles, coupons, cashback offers, or personal contact details inside the package is strictly prohibited.


12. Weight Discrepancy Policy

Courier (Shiprocket carrier) weight will be considered final.
Any excess weight charges applied by courier will be fully borne by the seller.


13. Damaged in Transit

Transit damage liability will be handled through courier company process.
Insurance (if applicable) and claim coordination will be managed by StoreMela.
Final settlement will depend on courier claim approval.


14. Inventory Management & Stock Accuracy

Seller must maintain accurate stock levels.

If stock is unavailable after order placement:

  • If customer agrees to wait → Warning issued.

  • If order is cancelled → Seller must pay ₹50 pickup charge OR actual shipping/RTO/cancellation cost (whichever applicable).

Repeated stock issues may result in:

  • Listing limitation

  • Commission increased to 2× default rate


15. Account Suspension / Termination

Account may be suspended or permanently terminated for:

  • Multiple policy violations

  • High return rate

  • Fraud activity

  • Fake tracking updates

  • Non-cooperation

  • Repeated customer complaints


16. Dispute Resolution

Internal StoreMela support team decision shall be final.
